The Fault In Our Stars

Caught the movie, The Fault In Our Stars, on Monday! A great way to kill Monday blues. A wrong move of mine to put on eyeliner when most of us have heard that it is a sad movie. But anyways, I just had to be careful when wiping the tears from my eyes. Hahaha! Lucky I didn't put on mascara though!

Had wanted to catch this movie way before it was screened in the cinemas, but i dragged until now. However, it's never too late I guess. At least I get the chance to catch it before it ends:) And I am glad I did!

So what makes me want to catch this movie? Reason is simple - because I get to learn something from it. Reviews had stated that it was based on a novel which is a number 1 New York Times Bestseller!  It's a great movie and I get to learn something from it! Killing two birds with one stone~

A short synopsis of the movie:
The movie depicts the story of two teenagers diagnosed with cancer, being in love with each other, and how they braved through their numbered days against the odds.

Things I learnt from the movie:

Life is very fragile. The things you least expect, do happen.
I guess those of you who have watched the movie, would be able to understand where I am coming from. But for those who haven't watch the movie yet, I will not spoil the story for you all here. Go and watch it if you have the chance. It's a really good movie!

So back to the lesson learnt. You will never know what happen during your journey through life. Of course it will never always be smooth sailing. There's meant to be the downside of life. But nevertheless, cherish every moments you have and embrace the events that had occurred. They are there to enable you to learn and grow up, shaping you to be a better and stronger person. Live your life to the fullest and don't leave any room for regrets!

It takes leaps of courage to hold onto the promise you make.
What are words if you only say things in the spur of the moment without meaning what you said? At the point of time, it might seem like the right thing to say or something just spark yourself to say or make certain promises. You may mean it at that point of time. But what if in the event something bad happen? Would you still be able to keep up to the promise of whatever you had said before? Would you still be there for the person?

I would say not many are able to do that. That's why I admire those who can do it. The movie depicts this very intensely, and it really really touched me. Despite knowing the odds, they still stand true to their promises and being there for each other.

Having said the above, we are also aware that the romance between both of them are also very sweet and touching. I literally melted!

I guess most of you would also want a love like this right? Someone who care that much for you, someone who will always be there for you regardless what circumstances. If you are already with this someone, cherish him/her. And as for those who haven't, no worries! You will definitely meet the right one someday! :)

I would really love to watch such movies sometime soon! :)

Soccer Theme Cake made specially by my mum. First attempt at making the soccer theme cake. And a surprise for my dad! I guess he did not expect it since my mum had told him she will be baking a fruit flavour cake for him. Cheeky mummy:P

Here's how the cake looks like after being cut out. Colours!!
Sorry that it looks ugly after being cut out. haha..

Hope my dad enjoyed himself even though he is feeling a little under the weather recently. Hope he get well soon!

Feeling under the weather

The month of July is seriously not my month, with stomach pain at the start of the month and thereafter followed by gastric pains this week.

Since long, I have been having gastric pains but it had been bearable since the last visit to the hospital a few years back when the pain had kicked in rather bad at midnight. But other than that, so far it was still alright - it was bearable and after taking the medicine, I will be alright after that.

But the pain since Tuesday morning, regardless of taking the medicine, it still did not get better. And I left office in the late afternoon to visit a doctor. I actually wanted to go to the clinic which I usually visit, but it was closed and will only open at night. That's why I went to another clinic which was nearby. And the next day visited yet another doctor who referred me to visit a specialist.

I got to say that I will not be going back to the first doctor again. One time experience is enough. haha. Cuz for me, I don't really like to eat medicine and is a little wary of the medicine which doctors have prescribed to me. So I only eat medicine given by doctors I trust! Those weird weird ones, I will just skipped those. *Secrets*

So wells~ shall visit the specialists and see how it goes then! Praying hard!

Back To The Previous Era

Recently, I was struggling. Struggling to survive without my 3G data plan! A real hard time as we have already gotten use to the advancement of technology that keeps everyone connected. In this current era, smart phones and internet is much of a necessity to us. They have become a part of our daily life and we can't seem to be able to separate ourselves from them seeing from the way we keep engaging ourselves in our smartphones anytime and anywhere.

First time ever that I very nearly exceeded my data plan. I guess there's always a first time in everything? haha! But if I tell you all how many GB my data plan is, and I still can nearly exceed, I think you all will kill me. Confirm chop!

Well~ I think.... I am not going to disclose how many GB I got. :P
But I would have to say that the main reason is due to watching of dramas without using wifi. That explains the high usage this month. And also if I am home, I seldom use wifi. Lucky I actually went to check and to my horror, I used that much! Imagine if I did not check at all. And continue using. My phone bill will confirm explode. Thanks to my instinct to check! :P

Nevertheless, during this period, I felt that I was already quite privileged - At least I can still have access via computers and wifi connection and not totally a cut-off:) I would say that this period was not that bad. Yes I do not have access to my whatsapp and all when there's no wifi, but at least I can treat the time without wifi as an alone time clear of those noise. Having some time to myself and think about stuff and clear thoughts. Hehe.

Never want to try that again anytime soon I hope.. Shall use my 3G very cautiously. Hehe

Temper? What's Yours!

Do you know what kind of temper you have? Are you those kind who are hot-tempered? Or are you the complete opposite? Only one way to find out! Try out this Quiz here: "How's Your Temper"

Below is a screenshot of mine! Rather true. I am always quick in terms of my temper. I might be angry one minute and say things out of anger, but the next, I am okay. So if I say anything out of anger, please don't take it too personally. I just need to vent out. I will be okay after a while. And yea~ I don't hold any grudges unless you hurt me too much? HAHAHA! But so far... nothing much. Not that I can remember of. See~ told you I don't hold grudges! :P

Having said the above, even though it's good that I don't hold grudges and only remain angry for a short period of time (can be in minutes:P), it is actually not good to have quick anger. Reason being you will react to anger immediately and say things you do not mean it to heart and regret it. Some people might also take your words personally. So to me, quick temper to anger is something that I might need to look into and improve upon.

So have a try for yourself to see how's your temper and if it really fits you to a tee:) Maybe you might realize another side to your temper. Before I did this quiz, I would rate my temper as medium range. Neither too hot tempered or very calm. It never occurred to me that my  quick in temper! Only after doing this quiz, I felt it's the right word to describe my temper rather than just categorizing it under medium range. LOL. At least I learnt something about my temper now!

Awesome Saturday (05 July 2014)

Had a real awesome day despite the morning rush and also not being able to sleep in given the great weather earlier this morning! But at least I get to sleep 1 hour more today as compared to during weekdays when I have work. Not that bad I guess? Better than nothing:P

Well~ The impromptu itinerary of the day started out in this sequence: Bugis-Cityhall-Somerset-Orchard!
Been a while since I last shopped for a whole day! This really reminds me about the time at Bangkok! Walking non-stop and not having snacks in between except for our mains. Differences are that we don't get to have the cheap wholesale prices (I am still remembering receiving wholesale prices for purchases of 3 items. 1 piece for 60 baht which is almost equivalent to $2.50! Where can you find such prices in Singapore? Sighhh... I am missing BKK already!!). Shall stop here already! If not, I think I can go on and on about what I missed at Bangkok. Haha! Now back to the differences, another would be that we get to be indoors most of the time, and even if we are walking outdoors, the weather was not that hot today so it was rather acceptable:) It's way better than the scotching hot sunny weather over at Bangkok.

Anyway, I think me and my friend chose the right day to meet up. We got a few good buys and free gifts during our day out! Below screenshot of the items. Lucky for the big plastic bag that we can use to fit all our items into one carrier. And to think we were saying that the person gave each of us such a big bag when we only bought one item from there. Hehe.

We also went to the JobCentral Career Fair to have a look since we are at Suntec. My friend was telling me about it and since we pass by the area, we went to have a look. Because of the trip there, I saw the SEA Games thing there. It make me want to volunteer for the event even more! Didn't take any actions to apply for it previously partly due to disapproval from my mum saying if I want to volunteer, then I might as well stay home and do housework. But why can't she understand that it's totally different? Volunteering for such events is also different from volunteering at old folks home as well. To date, I have to say that I did not regret volunteering for YOG previously and I am glad I went ahead to apply to volunteer that time:)

So.... because I do not want to miss out on the opportunity to volunteer for the SEA Games, I just went to apply online. Shall take action and talk after bah. Hopefully my mum will understand my viewpoint.

Oh ya! And earlier, we encountered someone saying that wrinkles is due to laughing too much! LOL! So remember, don't laugh too much if you don't wanna have wrinkles:P
But I realized that we will also squirt our eyes when crying. So why didn't the person say it's due to crying too much? HAHAHA! Omggg. Ignore me, I am just being lame here~

Anyway, that's about all~ Shall turn in for the night!
안녕히 주무세요 (annyeonghi jumuseyo)!
That's Goodnight in Korean :)

Hello July~

It's the first day of July and how are all of you doing so far? Hope everything is fine for all of you guys so far! :) For me, it's not starting out too well... What with being unwell, down with flu and also about to exceed my 3G usage and I still have to last till next wednesday. Bad start, but I am sure it will become better soon:)

But for now, I am gonna stop here. Really not feeling that well at the moment...

So enjoy the month of July!! :D
