Day 3 Part 2 Taiwan Trip (Feb/Mar 2015) - Danshui River Old Street |Fisherman's Wharf | Coffee Alley @ Jiantan Branch | Shilin Night Market

So after checking in hotel, the plans next up would be to Danshui then followed by Shilin in the night.

Getting there: Take the train to Danshui Station. Since we are at Ximen, we have to take 1 stop to Taipei Main Station and change to the Red line heading towards Danshui. The journey takes around 50 mins.

Ship of Happiness (幸福) we saw

Super cold with the strong wind blowing. And it's actually drizzling:(

Bought ferry tickets to Fisherman's Wharf. 

My friend told me that she heard before that if you are overseas and you take boat/ ferry, it can help to change your fate for the good (转运). And I was like kidding with her saying "Oh? Then in that case, if after that we take the ferry back, isn't it back to square one again?" Which she laughed and said that it doesn't work that way. Hahaha. Not sure if anyone is superstitious about this? But you all can try to travel by ferry instead of bus. It's a total experience with the bumpiness! :P 

You all might want to consider coming here earlier to catch the sunset. I heard it's a very magnificent view. When we were there, it's already late and skies have darken. So a pity we didn't manage to catch a glimpse of it:( The night view is so-so only. And with the night breeze, this place is even colder and windier than normal.

So end up, after taking a few photos, we took the last ferry back to Danshui and thereafter making our way to Shilin for dinner at Coffee Alley:)

We chose the Jiantan Branch as it's just located opposite Shilin Night Market. So after dinner, we can just cross the street and shop around Shilin Night Market. Convenient much!

Lots of citrus so if you are not a fan of those citrus, then you might want to re-consider.

This is real nice!! But if you get mains then this, not sure one can finish everything. Unless share!

Right now while drafting out this post, I am already missing the food there! It's nice! Have a try when you are there. The portion is quite big. Can share if you are a small eater. But one thing to take note is that there is a minimum purchase of a drink per person. They actually have different branches, so go for the one which is more convenient for you:)


After dinner, we then proceed to Shilin Night Market:) We didn't get much food over there since we were both very full from dinner. If not, we would have gotten the Giant Fried Chicken! We are going to leave that to another day instead. Partly also cuz seems like we were a lil down with sore throat. Must be the crispy mushroom from day 2:P 
But anyway, there's many things you can get from Shilin! So far, of all the night markets we gone to, I feel that Shilin is the best! I would love to go to that night market again!
