Shape Run 2014 (17 Aug 2014)

When's the last time you wake up at 5am and on a Sunday? I woke up that early for the run... in order to reach on half an hour before the flag off time.

Didn't really sleep the night before due to being excited and scared all at the same time! Reason being I had not participated in long distance runs ever since secondary days. Been a while and even though I am looking forward to running again, I was afraid that my body won't be able to take it since I had not been running and doing any training.

But once I start running, the feeling is back again! :)
I would have to say that I am shocked and amazed that I am still able to run non-stop and to think that the distance is 5km! Initially I had thought that since I have not been running for a while now, I might not have the stamina to sustain through the whole of 5km and that even 2.4km is said to be impossible for me. However, it turns out to be alright. Shocking to the max!

Everything have been rather smooth today except for the uneven paths. At the start of the race, someone fell due to the uneven concrete roads. But lucky, no serious injuries. And for myself, all of us were running down the path of grass patch and drain when the thing just gave way and I fell into it, grazing just the side of my leg. Lucky it isn't very serious and I was able to continue on. hehe. Another incident is at the end of the race while we are queuing to collect our medals and finisher tee, my eyesight suddenly darken where there are patches of darkness. Maybe it's due to the lack of water. Cuz we only managed to see one water point throughout the 5km race, and we didn't come across any near the finishing line. And the place where we are queuing for the medals and finisher tee, the water was provided there. But the queue was just too long. After getting some help, I did feel better after drinking some:)

And so, I have unlocked a new accomplishment for myself today at the Shape Run 2014! Woohooooooooo~ I did not regret at all for participating in this run, and I am glad that my friend had asked me along:)
