Ever
wonder what exactly is the importance of friendship and whether it is
worthwhile for you to hold on to some? Yes, friendships are important to most
of us where we depend a lot on the company of friends for joy and support.
However, there are also some people who like to be alone themselves and are
totally fine without friends. But nonetheless, I would say having friends
around is somewhat important :)
But
as everyone is aware that in life, we are likely to encounter some people who might
be friendly to you but on the other hand, tend to stab us in the back. You will
be amazed by the number of such people especially in the working world as they
try to fight for means to move up the career ladder and succeed in life. This
is even more common especially with the increasing costs of living currently. Not
saying all are like that, but such things happens. So be careful of the friends
you meet.
With
the progression through life, we will meet new people as well as have more commitments and
priorities in life (such as career, family, children, etc) and resulting in us
drifting away from some of our friends. That's the way of life: You gain some
things, you will also lose some! We can't have the best of both worlds! At
times like this, you might not be able to spend a lot of time with them as
compared to before. I guess you just have to set your priorities straight,
depending on what exactly you want.
Some
might also faced conflicts and disagreements with friends occurring as the
years go by. It's normal. As we spend more time with someone, we will get to
know him/her better, which includes knowing his/her flaws. However, if the
situation/ conflict are very serious, maybe it's time to consider using the
chance to rethink about the friendship, on whether it is worth your effort and
time to salvage the friendship. If the answer is yes, then try to do something
about it. You can either try to explain to your friends on your viewpoints and
thoughts about the things that had resulted in the disagreement/ conflicts and
get your friends to do the same. For all you know, maybe it's just a
misunderstanding. And also, sharing each other thoughts will ensure mutual
understanding :)
